Thomas Fousek peacefully went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2023. Tom was born to George and Irene Fousek in Manchester, IA. He grew up on his family’s farm in Strawberry Point, IA with his older brothers Vic, Ron, and Roger. After graduating from Starmont High School in 1971, he proudly served in the United States Navy as a Fire Control Technician aboard the USS Shasta during the Vietnam War.
Tom retired from his position as Lindsay Maintenance Foreman at the Friant Water Authority after 39 years. He was a constant inspiration to HR, keeping them busy drafting new policies and procedures in a futile attempt to curb his misbehavior. Everyone else was guaranteed a good groan and chuckle with his colorful, and distinct, sense of humor. His endless repertoire of “dad jokes” will be passed down to future generations.
Tom’s love and dedication to his wife, children, and family remains strong and true. He is survived by Marie Anne, his wife of 46 years, his children Linda and TJ, and 7 amazing grandkids.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM and the funeral service will be on Friday, August 11 at 11:00 AM. Both will take place at Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home located at 163 S. Mirage Ave., Lindsay, California. He will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, in the San Joaquin National Cemetery on Monday August 14 at 12:30 PM.
