Bishop Ronald Abbott was born June 27, 1947. He graduated from high school in 1965. He attended Ventura Junior College in Ventura, California and then transferred to Christian Life College in Stockton, California.
In 1967, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Duke. After finishing college, Ronald and Marjorie traveled as evangelists for the United Pentecostal Church International. They conducted revivals across California, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
In 1971, they became associate pastors in Modesto, California at a large growing church.
In January 1972, they accepted the Senior Pastor’s role at The First Pentecostal, in Tulare, California. It was a small church with approximately 35 in attendance. Over the next 40+ years, they saw God bless the church congregation, now called Abundant Life Center, as it grew and flourished.
Until his death, Bishop Abbott continued to be a vital pastoral member of Abundant Life Center with his years of experience and a heart for the people.
Ronald was a lover of God, life, people, sports, outdoors, animals and most of all his family.
Ronald passed from this life on April 9, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his parents Chester Lewis Abbott and Leveta Geneva Abbott. He is survived by his wife of 52+ years, Marjorie Abbott, three siblings, Judy Hudson, spouse Tommy Hudson, of Mesa, Arizona David Abbott, spouse Darcy, of Scotsdale, AZ, Rebecca Compton, spouse Michael, of Mesa, Arizona, three Daughters, Bethany Riportella Yaplee, spouse Steven Yaplee of Bakersfield, California, Stephany Parkey, spouse Bill Parkey, of Memphis, Tennessee, Tiffany Grogan, spouse Michael Grogan, of Tulare, California, his eight grandchildren, their spouses, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of many friends.
Due to the circumstances of this pandemic we are facing, a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. The family is asking that any floral arrangements be sent at that time.
