Michael was born in Lynnwood, California, grew up in Bell Gardens and graduated from the Apostolic Christian High School. Mike met his wife Brenda in Carlsbad, New Mexico in April 1968 and they were married in Vicksburg, Mississippi February 28th, 1971

The couple moved to California in June 1971 to a little town called Weedpatch and Mike found employment with Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. He retired from the hospital after 20 years and continued his nursing career as a Private Care Nurse. He was ordained at the age of 21 and earned his Bachelor of Bible Theology, Master of Theology and finished off with his Doctorate of Philosophy in Religion Studies. Mike spent 48 years in ministry, serving the Lord and devoting his life to God and the ministry.

He was a Bakersfield Condor season ticket holder for more than 20-years and never missed a game – unless he was sick. Mike loved his family and he never said no to a grandchild. Their house was rarely empty as there was always a grandchild or two visiting them. It has been said that “Grandparents who babysit their grandchildren live longer than those who don’t”. Perhaps Mike didn’t live as long as we had hoped, he did however live a wonderful life with family that loved him just as much as he loved them.
