Petra S. Villegas

Our Ama, Petra Sustaita Villegas of Strathmore, CA, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Ama, as she was known to family, was born on July 31, 1934, to Adolfo Sustaita and Eusebia Fraga.

Our Ama was a lady of few words but cherished her family immensely, always asking when you were coming back to visit her. Her courage, strength, and humorous wit were a blessing to all who knew her.

Ama is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Miguel Villegas; her grandson, Mario Villegas; and her great-granddaughter, Samantha Ramirez.

Ama is survived by her three children; Espy & Armando Andrade, Lupe & Juan Villegas, and Miguel Villegas Jr.; her grandchildren Rosie and Richard Ramirez, Rachel Preciado & Maricella Gutierrez, and Miguel Villegas III; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank Kaweah Delta Hospice staff for the wonderful care they provided for our Ama during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Doctor Behl and his staff for keeping our Ama's heart beating. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Doctor Vemuri for the exceptional care, compassion, and dedication to our Ama. Her kindness and attention meant more to us than words can express.
