Peter Salcedo was born to Ray and Laura Salcedo on July 11, 1948. He was the fifth of fourteen children; Margaret, Bobby, Kathy, Rachel, Peter, Danny, Angela, Ray, Clara, Paul, AnnaMarie, Michael, Frankie, and David.
From attending school to building his life, Peter did it all in Lindsay, California. He graduated from Lindsay High School in 1966, where he played basketball. Later down the road, he passed down his knowledge of the game to his son Christopher and even coached him and his friends in their early years.
Right out of high school, Peter started working his way up at Champion Home Builders and 48 short years later, he retired as a well-respected foreman. Peter made many friends while working there and learned many skills which he used to help his family and friends outside of work. He even built a lemonade stand for his granddaughters.
When Peter was 19 years old, he married Stella Martinez. The couple had three children: Andrea, Sarah, and Christopher. As their marriage grew over the years, so did their family. Andrea had Emma, Sarah married Carlos, and they had Matthew, Nicholas, and Ava Raye, and Christopher married Melissa, and they had Kiera and Aria.
Peter loved his family so much. He loved supporting each of his grandchildren. You could always find him near the field, in the stands, or in the bleachers. He made sure to attend their games, award ceremonies, graduations, performances, and really just anything they were a part of, even if it meant sitting in the rain all the while.
Peter spent his very last night on this earth listening to his favorite music with his wife, five kids, and six grandkids by his side.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13th from 4-7pm with the rosary at 6pm at Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Friday, March 14th, 11am at Sacred Heart Church in Lindsay.
