Paula Cortez

Paula is one of six siblings born to Trinidad and Domitila Cortez.  In 1979, she graduated from UC Santa Cruz and later earned a teaching credential from Chapman College.  For several years, she worked for the Social Security Office and taught children in elementary grades.

Respect for others and a strong belief in equal human rights guided Paula’s behavior. Along with a passion for the outdoors and gardening, she enjoyed taking care of the family’s five fur babies (Chiquita, Coco, Bear, Buffy, Polka Dot). 

Paula’s generosity and devotion to family will be remembered. She is predeceased by her parents, Gerardo (brother) and Grace (sister).  She is survived by sisters Olga and Gloria; brothers Trini and Robert (Adrienne), nephew Brian Anthony (Cassie) and four grand nieces and nephews.
