Nadine Alfaro Obituary

Nadine Borbon Alfaro, 84, of Porterville, California, passed away on October 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 5, 1941, in Lindsay, California, Nadine lived a full and beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and joy. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Richard Cabello Alfaro, whom she married on May 18, 1962. Together they built a lifetime of love and memories, raising their two sons, Richard Alfaro and Vince Alfaro (Alisha). Nadine was the proud grandmother of Francine Fernandez (Gerardo) and Richard Alfaro III. Nadine and Richard shared a bond that was truly extraordinary - a partnership built on faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They were best friends who stood by each other through every season of life. You could find them having breakfast at The Generals, or just enjoying each other's company in the warmth of their living room. Richard never left her side, caring for her with endless love and patience, calling her his angel from the very first day they met. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Roman Borbon, her daughter-in-law Leticia (Lisa) Alfaro, and 12 siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings Roman, Henry, Ernestine (Juan) Hernandez, Pauline, and Hortense (Don), and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Nadine dedicated nearly 40 years to the Lindsay School District, where she worked both in the classroom and as a nurse’s aide. She was deeply passionate about caring for others and making a difference in the lives of students, parents, and colleagues alike. A woman of many joys, Nadine loved reading, word puzzles, and a good laugh from her favorite sitcoms. She found joy in simple pleasures like BINGO, trips to the casino, drives to the lake to admire wildflowers (which she could name one by one), her grandchildren’s dogs and cats, and family gatherings filled with laughter and music. Nadine never turned down a dance floor, always with her nails polished, hair perfectly styled, and makeup just right. Her faith in God and love for life shined through in everything she did. Known for her beauty inside and out, her sharp wit, kindness, independence, and unwavering strength, Nadine left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her. Even after her dementia diagnosis, her light never dimmed. She remained gentle, loving, and able to recognize her family throughout her journey. Nadine cherished her close bond with her siblings and the memories they shared, often reminiscing about childhood adventures. She carried a special love for her twin sister, Josephine, who passed away at age 10 and whom Nadine longed to reunite with in Heaven. Nadine’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and faith - a life well-lived and a heart that will never be forgotten.
