Maura V. Felix

Maura V. Felix, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the
age of 88 on February 22, 2020. She was laid to rest on February 28, 2020 in a private
ceremony.
Maura was born on February 13, 1932 in Brawley, CA to Mauro and Petra Vicun͊a. Her family
eventually settled in Lindsay, CA in the early 1940’s. In 1947, she met her future husband,
Charlie F. Felix, and soon after they were married. They had five beautiful children, Charles
William, Rachel Ann, Stella Marie, Robert Charles and Anthony Charles.
Maura worked as an orange packer for over 30 years. After being given the opportunity to
retrain in a different profession she chose a career in interpreting. She was motivated to earn
her High School GED and became an interpreter for the court system and medical industry for
nearly 10 years. She enjoyed interpreting and gained satisfaction in helping others.
Once in retirement, she received the most joy and pleasure in caring for her grandchildren. She
spoiled and loved all her precious grandchildren. Maura had an impeccably clean home and a
manicured yard that was filled with beautiful plants and flowers. Maura and Charlie owned
acreage and absolutely loved to farm olives for over 40 years.
Our mother will be remembered for the selfless love and support that she gave us all. She
always looked forward to seeing a new day as she was determined to get things
“accomplished.” Her motto was “Never leave things for tomorrow that you can get done today.”
We will always remember her infectious smile, her laughter and her love for mariachi music.
Maura is preceded in death by her parents, Mauro and Petra Vicun͊a as well as two siblings
Frank and Alexandria. Maura will be lovingly remembered by her husband Charlie with whom
she would have celebrated 73 years of marriage this year. She will be greatly missed by her
children Chas (Rachel) Felix, Rachel (Henry) Gonzales, Stella Felix, Robert (JoAnn) Felix,
Anthony (Georgia) Felix, her ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
