Tipton - Leonard Joseph Cardoza, 83, a devoted dairyman and farmer, passed away peacefully at home in Tipton with his family by his side on April 7, 2026. Born on August 29, 1942, Leonard lived a life rooted in hard work, with a deep love for his family and the land he cared for.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Manuel Cardoza; his brother, Manuel Cardoza; and his sisters, Irene Germain, Eleanor Cooper Davis, and Rosalie Maness.
Leonard leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Eva Cardoza. He is also survived by his son, James (Jami) Cardoza, and his cherished grandchildren, Christian, Carson, and Madisson Cardoza, who brought him immense pride and joy.
His sister-in-law, Geraldine Cardoza, and her children, Doug Cardoza, David Cardoza, Debbie Cardoza, and Jennifer Godinho; by Elanor's sons, Tommy and Rod Cooper; and by his cousin and longtime business partner, Melvin (Marcia) Cardoza, along with Melvin's daughters, Melinda Freitas and Annette Cardoza.
Leonard was a member of SPDES, the High Sierra Club, and the Small Town Cruisers car club. He had a lifelong love for hot rods, horseback trips through the Sierras, and the thrill of time spent at the dunes. He lived fully, with a spirit that blended adventure and hard work.
He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A viewing will be held at Webb, Sanders and Smith Funeral Home, in Lindsay, on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2:00-7:00 PM. Graveside services will take place at Lindsay Cemetery on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The address for the cemetery: 639 S Foothill Ave, Lindsay, CA 93247
