Larry Olin Shaw

Larry was born July 25, 1952, in Rector, Arkansas to Elbert Shaw and Imogene Beaton and passed away January 31, 2026, surrounded by his family. 

He moved to California at the age of 7, graduated from Lindsay High School in 1971 and soon thereafter married his wife of 53 years Joanna Lee Jackson.

In 1972 Larry became employed at Wind Machine Sales, which later became Vamco, where he worked 49 years until his retirement.  Larry was well known throughout the wind machine industry and made many friends along the way.   Although the wind machine business called for many long and cold nights, you could always bet that Joanna would show up with a thermos of coffee, and a plate with dinner (usually enough for the entire crew).  They were an amazing team, which created quite a void in his life after she suddenly passed away in 2025.   Larry was quite the NASCAR enthusiast and a sports fan of any team his son coached or his grandchildren were affiliated with.  He was their biggest fan even when his final years left him with limited mobility, he managed to continue to show up and cheer from the sidelines.  

In addition to his wife Joanna, Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
He is survived by his son Alan Shaw (Alicia) and daughters Kerrie Shaw and Candi Gonzalez.   Larry was very proud of his 8 grandchildren Aaron (Heather), Bailey, Holly (Christian), Madison, Ezekiel “Zeke”, Kylee, Jacob, Nathan, and his two great granddaughters Sophie and Olivia.

A graveside service to celebrate Larry’s life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday Feb 21, 2026, at the Lindsay Cemetery.
