In Loving Memory of Josie B. Arroyo (Nana)

Josie B. Arroyo, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Tia, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 90.

Josie was born on May 17, 1936, in Lindsay, California, to Jose and Mary Barrera. She was raised in Lindsay, where she built a life rooted in family, hard work, and service to others.

July 17 1956, she married the love of her life, Philip Arroyo. Together they shared a lifetime of memories and raised three children Philip Jr., JoAnn, and Priscilla. Josie was well known throughout the community for her 32 years of dedicated service at Lindsay Olive Growers. She was also proud to own and operate Arroyo Pines, the only Christmas tree farm in town, bringing joy to countless families during the holiday season.

While Josie worked hard throughout her life, her greatest and most cherished role was being “Nana.” It was in that role that her true spirit came alive. She raised more than her share of children and made every child feel special, loved, and important. No baby in her presence was left without a kiss, a hug, or affection. Whether you were related to her or not, Josie was quick to claim you as one of her own and proudly remind you that she was your Nana, too.

Josie was the definition of selflessness. She would do anything for anyone and never expected anything in return. She possessed a rare combination of strength, resilience, and kindness. Her personality was truly one of a kind, and she always made sure the people she loved knew exactly how much they meant to her.

To know Josie was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Arroyo; her parents, Jose and Mary Barrera; and her sisters Sara Briones and Dolores Avila.

She is survived by her son, Philip Arroyo Jr , and his children Amanda, Nathan, Adam, and Natalie; her daughter, Joann Felix, her husband Robert Felix, and their children Isaiah and Sara; and her daughter, Priscilla Caballero, her husband Ramiro Jr Caballero, and their daughters Kalee and Klarissa. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with countless extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her love and generosity.

Josie’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the community she served, and the countless hearts she helped shape. Her love, warmth, and unwavering devotion to others will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
