Gilbert Ibarra Felix Obituary

On behalf of the Felix Family, we would like to thank you all for being here with us today at our father " Gilbert/Po's" celebration of life. Our father was an amazing kind man with a huge loving heart for his family. Not only was he a amazing father to his 4 children, but also a great role model as well. He was a great husband to our late mother Blanca Julia Felix. We have many great memories of dad & mom growing up, such as drive-in movie nights, with a car packed full of goodies to enjoy throughout the show. Dad would also take us target shooting at Rocky Hill, bike rides, motorcycle rides & rides in the back of his truck while he and Mom sat in front. We enjoyed laying on blankets Watching the Night sky view. Soon after came the grandkids which brought both mom and dad so much love and happiness. Dad taught each one how to ride bikes. He love spending time with them all. They formed a unbreakable bond throughout the years of great quality time spent together. He looked forward to each holiday especially Fourth of July. Next came of the great grandkids, dad loved having a full house of all of us on a regular basis. He enjoyed us taking him out on scenic drives, he enjoyed trips to the junkyard, since he was a "not so retired mechanic" he enjoyed telling us all stories about his & mom's younger days, and also about growing up with his siblings. He enjoyed his late night meals and movie nights.

Our dad was a retired auto mechanic but never quite understood the meaning of "retired". Once he had a job to do he would work on it from dusk till dawn. No brakes ,no lunch, till the job was done. that was just him and his mindset. We used to call him a robot because of it. he had many ideas and inventions he would work on. he was a jack of all trades. he could fix anything and, sometimes made it work better then when it was brand new. Last but not least dad became the cat man. He had various cats which he came up with the funniest names for, such as Felix, peanut & Pelosi. He enjoyed their company as well as they enjoyed his. They hung around the backyard as he was working, and bonded with him. His cats were his pride and joy, they became his children. He gave them lots of love and they were very spoiled by him. They miss him dearly. Dad was deeply loved by all of us and those who knew him. He is truly missed, but we know he is reunited with our mother as well as his family members and friends that have also left this world. Dad will always live on in our memories and in our hearts. He left a huge impact on each and everyone of us in his own way. Thank you for always being our support, our mr.fix it, our father and our hero. We all know that someday we will all be reunited again. We love you dad/grandpa, forever & always.
