Enrique de Leon Robles
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Enrique (Henry) de Leon Robles, a man of great faith and tenacity. Enrique was born close to the Municipality of Ameca, Jalisco in Mexico on January 06, 1933 to Alberto and Dolores Robles. In his journey of 93 years, he touched many lives through his persevering spirit of service to others. In 1950 at the age of 17 he moved to the United States to build a new and better life with the mindset of laying the groundwork to one day bring his mother, siblings and extended family to this country. He worked as a farm laborer from San Diego through several other counties up to Napa County. In 1959, Enrique married the love of his life, Arecelia Centeno in Lindsay CA. This coming summer would have been 67 years of marriage. Their strong work ethic and love for family and community was a catalyst for Enrique to start a farm labor contracting business in 1968. God carved out opportunities for Enrique, Arcelia, their children and extended family that movies are made of. Their American dream was a step by step fight and a driving purpose guided in the stillness of knowing that Enrique would do his best and God would do the rest. Enrique loved agriculture and was joyously committed to farming for 76 years. He worked alongside his workers projecting a sense of inclusivity and respect. He was doing “Better Together” before it became a slogan; for Enrique, it was a way of life. Enrique had the inclination to find the sweetness and promise in life’s sacrifices and trials. One of those sacrifices he encouraged with single-mindedness was the importance of education. He not only encouraged his children to make the most of school-something he expressed he wished he would have had. He motivated his children, nieces, nephews, friends, friends’ children, and his grandchildren to seek higher education. He motivated anyone who would listen. Enrique enjoyed the outdoors whether among his orchards, the mountains or along the coast. He drew peace from nature and he found great joy in sharing this intrinsic love of nature with family and friends. Enrique was a beloved husband, father, abuelo, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Dolores Robles, his sister Maria de Jesus Alcantar, Antonio Robles, and his beloved grandson Jonathan Leo Robles Pirouzi. He is survived by his wife Arcelia Centeno Robles, his children, his beloved grandchildren, his sister, Ignacia Hernandez, his brother, Salvador Robles; as well as his many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at The Lindsay Seventh Day Adventist Church, 588 E. Honolulu Street, Lindsay, California, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. We invite all who knew and loved Enrique to join us in honoring his memory. Interment will be at a later date with a private ceremony in Turlock, CA.
