Dolores B. Avila, a beloved member of the Lindsay community, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in 1934, Dolores led a life marked by unwavering dedication and boundless love. Dolores retired after a distinguished career with the Lindsay School District, where her passion for education and commitment to her students left a lasting impression. In addition to her contributions to education, she was a devoted citrus farmer, managing her family’s agricultural legacy with remarkable skill and perseverance. She was married to Joe Avila, who predeceased her in 1989. Together, they built a life rich in family and community ties. Dolores had 3 children, Joe Avila Jr. Kathy Avila and Laura Avila. Her legacy also includes four cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Vargas, Joseph Avila III, Francisca Avila, and Antoinette Avila, as well as three great-grandchildren: Martin Vargas, Lennon Avila, and Elena Aldaco. Dolores’s work ethic and warmth made her a pillar of her community. Her strength and kindness touched many lives, and she will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her. Her family and friends will forever hold dear the values she imparted and the love she shared. A memorial service to celebrate Dolores's extraordinary life will be held 8/13/24 at Webb sanders Funeral home in Lindsay ca from 9am-11am followed by a graveside burial at Lindsay Cemetery.
