Catherine LoBue, lovingly known as Cathy, was born on April 6, 1946, in Lindsay, California to Robert and Carmen Rueda.
A woman known for her loving nature, baked goods, and ability to chat. Cathy passed away on March 1, 2026.
Cathy had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel loved and seen. She not only knew but cared about everyone's story. Anyone who made friends with Cathy had a friend for life. She was thoughtful, genuine, and hardworking.
Cathy found the most joy in simple pleasures such as walks around the orange grove with her dog, shopping for bargains, reading the paper, a cold beer with her pizza, and long chats on the phone with her vast number of friends. And always.....always dessert.
As we remember Cathy, we are reminded of her ever curious nature, her infectious laughter, all of the Thanksgivings she hosted for close to 100 people, and the homemade cookies you could almost always find in her kitchen.
Cathy's heart was deeply centered on friends and family. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Philip, three children: Eric, Rick, and Lori, along with her 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A mass will be held for Cathy at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lindsay on March 25, 2026 at 11am. Celebration of life to follow at China's Alley.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made in Cathy's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
