Barbara Etta Hamby

Barbara earned her Angel wings and ascended into the heavens surrounded by family, on October 21, 2022 at the age of 83.

Barbara was the oldest of five siblings; William“ Billy“ Pritchard, Doris Simas, Kathy Hill, Eugene Pritchard, Vickie (Neil) Bailey.  She had three daughters from an earlier marriage; Teresa (Javier) Fonseca, Tina Cunningham-Nourian and Toni Cunningham-Meek.  She met the love of her life John W Hamby and they were married in 1968.  At which time her family was extended with two stepdaughters; Patsy (Frank) Gonzalez, Karen Hamby (Mike).

She had a passion for caring that extended beyond her family, to her doll face Pomeranian Dolly, her cat Kitty and feeding hundreds of hummingbirds, Orioles’, quail and other wild bird species year round. She loved everything green and growing.  You could count on seeing her working on something in their yard. Her gardening and yardwork showed it. When spring time arrived every year, her yard was like a beautiful Better Homes and Gardens center fold.  Her and John also took care of an acre of orange trees. Let’s just say she kept herself very busy and loved the outdoors.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years John W Hamby, sisters, daughters, 7 grandchildren; Sean Fonseca, Shelley Fonseca, Joshua (Michelle) Berbereia, Shasta Jackson, JD Jackson, Scott Pinkelman, Karen (Glen) Hoffman, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as an incredible loving wife, sister, mama, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother that she was. Anyone that knew her was blessed to have had her touched their lives. The memories that we all share will live on in our hearts forever. We all love and miss you every single moment of every single day, until we meet again.
