Antonia Castañon Salas gained her angel wings on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 89.
Antonia was born in Juarez, Zacatecas to Francisco Castañon and Petra Gomez on March 15, 1933.
Antonia is preceded in death by the love of her life Cesario Salas from Chickasha, Oklahoma and her daughter. They established their home in Lindsay, California in 1960.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lindsay; she volunteered for special events and cooked meals. She worked for Earibest Citrus in Exeter, California for 25 years and also worked for Suntreat Packing House in Lindsay.
Antonia was whole heartily devoted to her family milestones events such as births of grandchildren, great grandchildren, weddings, holidays and everything in between. She was always there. She led by example. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She loved road trips! She was an incredible cook and loved music, sewing, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by her 6 children. Raul Salas, Elizabeth Munoz, Irma Jauregui of Lindsay, California, Rudy Salas and Irene Torres or Exeter and Jim Salas of Ukiah. She was a Grandmother of 33 grandkids and 1 great grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home in Lindsay.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 6:00 Pm at Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home.
A Mass will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lindsay with a Graveside service to follow at Lindsay Strathmore Public Cemetery in Lindsay.
